The latest Express Entry draw, Draw 263, marked the first invitation round in a month after a brief hiatus in Express Entry draws for all categories. The draw, held on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, issued 3,200 Invitations to Apply (ITA) to candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 531. Notably, this draw, like its predecessor, did not specify a particular immigration program, leaving the field open for candidates from various programs to receive invitations.
The previous Express Entry draw, which took place on August 15, was also categorized as a ‘No Program Specified’ draw. In that draw, a total of 4,300 candidates were invited to apply, showcasing the flexibility of Canada’s immigration system. Eligibility for that draw was determined by having a CRS score of 496 or higher. This allowed candidates from different programs, including the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and Provincial Nominee Program, to receive invitations.

However, the latest draw introduced a higher minimum CRS score requirement, which stood at 531 points. This makes it the second-highest CRS score threshold to date, with only one previous draw surpassing it. The record for the highest CRS score requirement was set on August 23, 2022, when candidates needed a CRS score of 533 points to receive an invitation.
Moreover, this draw issued a smaller number of invitations compared to its predecessor. While the August 15th draw invited 3,200 candidates, Draw 263 offered the same number of invitations but with a higher CRS score requirement.
