The first step to becoming a student in Canadian universities is to research affordable schools for your budget. After which, you check out the available programs and then proceed with your application.

The tuition and living expenses can be discouraging for some schools, but some Canadian universities are quite affordable.

In no particular order, these are the seven cheapest Canadian universities for international graduate students;

The University of New Brunswick is located in the province of New Brunswick. It comprises two campuses, and you can be on any of them. The first is Fredericton, and the second is the Saint John campus. Fredericton, interestingly, is known as the craft beer brewing town of Canada.

The Tuition for a course-based master’s degree is about $6,400 per year and $10,800 per year for a research-based master’s course. The faculty of Arts, Science, Engineering, and Education are the primary faculties for graduate students. On average, the rent for a one-bedroom apartment is $600, while for a two-bedroom, it is $1,500.

Next is the Memorial University of Newfoundland, it is in the province of Newfoundland. Its campus is in Saint John, known for its cultural community and vibrant art.

For a one-year master’s program, the cost is $6,700, and $9,700 for a two years master’s program. For a graduate diploma, the cost ranges from $6,000 to $16,000, and for a PhD, it is about $18,000.

The major faculties are the Arts, Science, Engineering and Education faculty. On average, the rent for a one-bedroom apartment is $1,000 and about $1400 for a two-bedroom apartment.

Then there’s the University of Prince Edward Island. The province where it is situated is Prince Edward Island, with its campus located in Charlottetown, which is renowned as the City of Confederation.

The average tuition for a master’s ranges from $8,000 to $14,000; for PhD, it ranges from about $14,000 to $35,000. The major faculties are the faculty of Arts, Business Administration, Nursing Science, and Engineering.

Again, another of the cheapest Canadian universities is the University of Saskatchewan. Located in the province of Saskatchewan, this university has its campus in Saskatoon. The tuition for a master’s is $9,500 per year and $4700 per year for a PhD. The university’s core faculties are Arts, Business Administration, Nursing Science, and Engineering. The average cost for a one-bedroom is $1,000, and between $1,300 to $1,500 for a two-bedroom apartment.

The fifth university on this list is Brandon University, in the city of Brandon. It has a high acceptance rate for International students, and many Africans are enrolled there. The city of Brandon is situated in the province of Manitoba. The tuition for a master’s program is $8,000 per year.

Major faculties include Arts, Engineering, Music, Environmental Science, and Health. Rent for a one-bedroom apartment typically costs around $900, while a two-bedroom apartment averages $1,300.

Simon Fraser University is the sixth university, situated in the province of British Columbia, with its campus in Burnaby.

A master’s program costs $10,000 per year. A one-bedroom apartment costs $2,500, and $3,500 for a two-bedroom apartment. The Faculties are the Art, Health, Engineering, and Science faculty.

Finally, the University of Northern British Columbia is the last on the list of cheapest Canadian universities. University of Northern British Columbia is located in the province of British Columbia, with Engineering, Economics, Business, Human Science, and Environmental science as the core faculties. The tuition fee per semester is about $3,500. The average cost of rent for a one-bedroom apartment is $1,000, and $1,400 for a two-bedroom apartment.
